Rediscover Think and Grow Rich By Napoleon Hill

I don’t even remember if I ever read the book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, and if I did, I probably scrambled through it, thinking I had the concepts down. I made a mistake. I recently came across the Blaine Oelkers guide, Mastering Think and Grow Rich. You can find Blaine’s guide at the end of this article. From this new perspective, I have begun to read the book as a textbook, rather than just another inspirational book. According to Blaine, what you think, you provoke. I could not agree more!

As always, I bring a wish to my reading, to get my thoughts focused on my goals and then my reading filters through to show me what I need to get there. I often think about my clients and their financial problems and all the worry and fear and stress they experience, along with a core shame that they somehow failed to even consider bankruptcy. I remember some of my first thoughts about money and wealth. When I was waiting tables while attending college, I used to say, “I always have enough money.” That mantra helped open my eyes to finding street money to increase tips, and even finding a way to get a free scholarship to school. Thoughts actually cause a change in behavior, over time.

Ask yourself this question: What do you really want? Be prepared to give something back because we all know you can’t have something for nothing. In fact, maybe that’s why so many people don’t make it to the top 1% because they’re not willing to give up something to have what they really WANT. I had to stop complaining about my current situation. I left the excuses and the stories that I had painted and woven into my life. Stop thinking that you are stinking up your life and go after what you really WANT and the riches will come. Become the owner of your own destiny.
