Indoor riding arenas

Are you looking for a good quality indoor riding arena? Don’t know how to choose the right builder? Not familiar with building arenas? If you answer YES to any of these questions, this article is for you.

Here’s what you should know about indoor arenas:

1. The first step is to establish your total budget and calculate the total cost of the arena construction project. To do this, you will need to get quotes from different builders. Your total budget should include the following: Permitting, site excavation, construction of the inner arena itself, arena floor, electrical drawing, and sealing. Other expenses may include: land reclamation, driveway, landscaping, and may even be a water runoff system. And I’m sure if you dig even deeper you may find more expenses associated with building the arena.

2. The second step is to find the right builder. Ask the builder if he has built arenas before. If they have, don’t be lazy, drive over and take a look at one to see the construction, or better yet, talk to the owner for an answer. After all, he will be spending thousands and will want to make sure there are no surprises.

3. The third step is to make sure your indoor stadium is built the right way and is the right size for your needs. After all, you don’t want to build too small an arena and regret it for the rest of your days. At the same time, you don’t want to build too big an arena and waste all that money. Indoor arenas, in my opinion, should not be less than 60’x120’x14′ in size. Good size indoor arena is 72’x180’x16′. This indoor size can be used for different purposes and disciplines. The end result, your riding style, and intended use will determine the proper size of arena that will work best for you. In some cases, you may even have to opt for a larger interior, such as a stadium that is 80 or even 100 feet wide. If you are going to use your interior for jumping or barrel running, you will need a larger arena. If you’re doing an English or Western show, you might be able to get away with a smaller one.

4. Finally, you need to make sure that your indoor arena is built correctly. If you are looking for a steel building, make sure it is of good quality. If you’re looking for a post-frame build, here’s what we recommend. Build your arena with 4-ply 2×8 glue-laminated posts. Glue-lam posts are sturdier and won’t bend or bend compared to regular posts. Make sure your builder installs all bracing, such as wind/wing braces and truss braces. Make sure your board is leaning and at least 5 feet tall. The sloped board will better protect the rider from pinching their legs. If you use a metal roof, don’t forget to install reflective insulation under the metal to keep the heat out in summer. Make sure you have enough light and ventilation in your stadium. And make sure you build your arena in the right place (preferably on a higher ground elevation). After all, you don’t want your stadium to flood every time it rains.

Well, now it’s up to you, but I hope you can learn something from this article.
