Using the putt preview and other putting tips for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 for Wii

Here are some tips for using putt preview. I didn’t really understand the whole concept until I saw some of my friends getting ready to putt.

For my setup, I would look over the putt, see if it was uphill or downhill, see if the green was leaning to the left or right or both. I would then position myself with my best guess and press putt preview. The preview would show me how close I was to the actual path and whether the 100% putt would go further or fall short.

What I didn’t realize was that during my setup, if I set the putt distance to less than 100%, the putt preview would show me the path based on what I had set. Now as part of my setup I adjust the distance and angle. This has improved my putting quite a bit.

Here are some more tips:

Do you count the number of squares on the putt to see your short or long? They are in 5 foot increments. each. After you exit the putt preview, you can adjust the putting distance arrow to add or subtract how many yards you have short or long to go and read the percentage. For example, you have the 40 foot. selected putter and sets the arrow to 40 feet. You look at the preview of the putt and it shows you two squares or 5 feet. long. Exit putt preview and move the putter back 10 feet. at 30 feet. The percentage below the 30 foot mark reads 75%. That’s what you’re looking for on the power meter. 75% is 3/4 of the way up.

If you have an uphill putt, your selected putter will rarely do the job. Select the next level putter before viewing the putt preview. The same is true for downhill putts. Go back one level before seeing the preview of the putt.

Good luck!
