Split Enz Hair Salon Greymouth

I was quite impressed with my experience with Split Enz hair salon in Greymouth when I went to get my hair cut sometime in October 2019. I enjoyed the chat from the lady who was cutting my hair. She gave me her full attention during my visit, not that I would have minded because someone had to man the counter every time a customer came in.

Split Enz is on the corner of Tainui and Guinness Street; so well hidden you wouldn’t know it exists if you’re a visitor to the city wandering around looking for a place to get a haircut. The easiest way to find Split Enz is to go to the Unichem Pharmacy and ask for directions.

Split Enz is open at 8 or 8:30 am and closes at 5 pm, but Wednesday and Thursday nights are late closing days and the lounge closes at 7 pm On Saturday it is open from 9 am to 1 pm.

Greymouth is the largest city on the west coast of the South Island with a population of around 11,000; it has some of the most impressive landscapes in the world.

The city is the commercial center of the west coast with buses and trains arriving and leaving the railway station.

The Tranzalpine Express between Christchurch and Greymouth is rated as one of the best train journeys in the world and takes in some spectacular scenery. The train leaves Christchurch in the morning and returns in the afternoon.

Greymouth has all the amenities of any city of similar size, with the public library on Albert Street providing free internet service, not to mention the best selection of books on the west coast. The High Street entertainment center is the best on the coast.

Greymouth has more than its fair share of cafes; if you like fast food, McDonalds and KFC are in the roundabout at the bottom end of Tainui Street. Then there are two or three along Mackay Street, one of them is Robert Harris, which is just below the train station. There is also a metro near the train station.

The village has a good variety of department stores such as The Warehouse, Noel Leeming and others.

If you haven’t been to Greymouth for years, the town has certainly had a makeover, so why not pay us a visit? You won’t be disappointed.
