The Omron HEM-790IT is one of Omron’s best models and has the accuracy and all the features expected from the largest manufacturer of blood pressure monitors. The unit is capable of storing reading sets for 2 users plus a guest mode. The addition of a USB cable with software allows all readings captured on the display unit to be transferred to your PC.

The unit comes in 2 parts: the display unit and the Comfit upper arm cuff.

Accuracy

There are 2 averaging systems built into the Omron HEM-790IT to ensure accuracy is maximized.

TruRead Mode – This is an automatic mode where 3 readings are taken at 1 minute intervals and the average is displayed (the cuff will deflate and reinflate between measurements).

Single Reading Mode – Will display the average of the last 3 readings (as long as they were taken within a 10 minute period).

IntelliSense Technology

IntelliSense is a technology designed by Omron to monitor blood pressure and inflate the cuff to the correct level that will ensure accurate readings with maximum cuff comfort. It will also deflate the cuff when the measurement is complete.

The Comfit Cuff is another unique feature of Omron’s blood pressure monitors. The cuff is preformed, making it easy to fit without assistance. The bracelet has markings indicating how to adjust it correctly, so it is difficult to adjust it incorrectly. It can be used by anyone with an arm circumference between 9 and 17 inches.

Monitor

The display unit has a large digital display with a sloped front panel that makes it easy to position and read. The 3 main readings displayed are systolic (measured when the heart is pumping), diastolic (when the heart is at rest), and pulse.

Permanent storage of your measurements

The Omron HEM-790IT is supplied with a USB cable and Omron’s health management software so that measurements that need to be retained can be uploaded to your PC for permanent storage. Systolic, diastolic and pulse data uploaded from the display unit can be displayed on your PC in graphical form, making it easy to see any trends in blood pressure or heart rate. If necessary, the data can be retrieved or printed in PDF or CSV format to pass on to the doctor.

The Omron HEM-790IT can be powered by the supplied AC adapter or by 4 “AA” batteries (providing approximately 1400 measurements with a fresh set of alkaline batteries).

A handy storage case is included in the contents, giving the display unit some protection when not in use.
