Humidity in Michigan

Michigan is one of the states in the US that experiences humid weather during the summer season. The summer season means warm weather throughout the Michigan region despite being bi-peninsular in nature. The state of Michigan is divided into two regions, namely the southern region and the northern region. It is also divided by the lower and upper peninsula.

The southern region along with the lower peninsula experience lower humidity compared to the northern region and the upper peninsula. The southern region experiences a warm climate and humidity during the summer can be very high. It experiences a shorter winter compared to the northern region, where it experiences a longer and colder winter. Unlike the southern region, the northern region experiences warmer weather and higher humidity during the summer. The northern region with the upper peninsula experiences extreme weather conditions, as it is hotter in the summer and colder in the winter.

This is done to provide the necessary information so that the residents of each place and their neighboring community take the necessary precautionary measures against possible heat stroke and other ailments due to the increase in temperature and humidity. The eight strategic locations where humidity is measured for data collection are in Alpena, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Houghton Lake, Lansing, Muskegon, and Sault Ste Marie. Daily readings that are averaged on a 24-hour basis are taken every 3 hours. The morning reading is set at 7 am and an afternoon reading is also taken which is set at 4 pm.

For Alpena, the average humidity during the day is 74, while the morning reading is 83 and the afternoon reading is 60. For Detroit, the typical reading is 71, while the morning reading is and the afternoon is 81 and 58 respectively. For Flint, the daily reading is 72, while the morning and afternoon reading is 82 and 59 respectively. For Grand Rapids, the daily reading is 73, while the morning and afternoon reading is 83 and 60 respectively. For Houghton Lake, the daily reading is 75, while the morning and afternoon reading is 85 and 61 respectively. For Lansing, the daily reading is 74, while the AM and PM reading are 84 and 61 respectively. For Muskegon, the daily reading is 73, while the morning and afternoon reading is 81 and 63 respectively. And for Sault Ste Marie, the daily reading is 77, while the morning and afternoon reading are 85 and 66 respectively.
