No human being is a machine that can remember and remember the pieces of information that are fed to it. Since we understand that losing your password is a fairly common problem and can happen at any time, we have provided a complete guide to help you recover or reset your password on your own. Basically, this means that you don’t need to contact Microsoft support for help.

Instructions:

It is not possible to manually recover the password for your Outlook setup email. You can reset your password or recover it using a password recovery tool. See below:

How to recover the password:

Download and run a free or paid password recovery tool from a trusted website. Save the file to your desktop. When finished, double click the file and run it as administrator (you may need administrator rights to run this file). Wait until the program searches through Windows and displays your password. It may take less than a minute or a little longer to recover your password. You can choose from a wide range of available tools, such as Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Password, Mail PassView, Outlook Email Password Recovery v.4.8.1.3, Outlook Password Restoration Tool v.3.0.1.5, and Outlook Password 1.4, among others.

How to reset the password:

Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) whose email account you have set up in Microsoft Outlook. Once you have your new password, open Outlook. Click the Tools tab at the top and select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.

In the Account Settings dialog box, highlight the Email tab, and then double-click your account. The Personal Folders window will open. If this box doesn’t open, highlight the Data Files tab and look for your email account name.

Click the Change Password button and enter the password you just received from your ISP in the Old Password box, enter a new password of your choice in the New Password box, and retype it in the desired box. Click the OK button to exit the Change Password box. Click the Apply button and then OK to exit the Personal Folders window. Click Close to exit the Account Settings window.

Instead of putting in another password, you can simply update your Outlook with the password provided by your ISP. For that, you will be prompted to go to the Internet Email Settings. Click on the Tools tab and go to Account Settings. Double-click your email account name in the Email or Data Files tab. Scroll down to the Login Information heading, delete the password already entered, and enter the password you got from your ISP. Click to check the Remember password box. Click the More Settings button and make the desired changes. Click the OK button to return to the previous window. Review all of your settings, and then click the Test Account Settings button to try them out. When you’re done, click the Next button and then click Finish.

Additional tips:

It’s always good to keep your password written down on a piece of paper or in Windows Notepad or WordPad and save it for situations like these. Store the sheet of paper in a safe, dry place for future use.
