How to determine if you have vertigo

My friend was driving her car to pick up the children from school. The best way to prevent a vertigo attack is to get enough sleep. An ideal 8-hour sleep at night and a 1-2 hour nap during the day can minimize vertigo symptoms. It is also advisable to avoid stress. Stress can cause a hormonal imbalance that triggers a vertigo attack.

Nicotine and caffeine can also trigger symptoms. It is better to quit smoking and avoid drinking coffee if you are diagnosed with vertigo. Coffee can cause serious sleep problems as can nicotine which inhibits sleep. Caffeine is considered a drug that can increase your heart rate, making you alert and nervous.

A friend once told me that her vertigo attacks get worse every time she has sex with her husband. Of course, I’m not saying that you should avoid having sex, too. But I must note that the attacks can vary according to the activity of the person who has vertigo. And sex can be one of the activities that triggers the attack.

From my friend’s experience, the seizure after having sex caused her too much pain in her head, leading to partial paralysis on her face. The number lasted about 10 minutes.
