How do you know when a guy likes you?

If you’ve ever wondered if a guy you’re interested in likes you, you’re not alone. If you only knew about some behavior problems, you could notice it in advance and you could better think about your own strategy for him. At the end I also give you an easy and practical way to test it.

Eye contact

Begin to observe how he looks at you. If you haven’t met him before, he may be watching you from a distance. And every time he notices you looking at him, he pulls away. It’s not a sign that he doesn’t like you, but the sign of shyness. He sometimes feels obsessed if the guy you are least interested in behaves this way.

Commonly known – “the look” – when the guy sweeps his gaze from head to toe with a slight tentative smile it also means that he is interested. Somehow. Unfortunately, it usually just means that he would like to sleep with you. Of course, if that’s what you want too, go for it! But if you want something deeper, be careful.

If you already know him, it’s easier to make eye contact with him. It is said that a woman can read a man’s heart through her eyes and that no man can hide her feelings if she looks directly into his eyes. And a guy who likes you will also try to make eye contact with you. Also, if there’s nothing against the two of you being together, even a shy guy doesn’t need to look away.

You can also notice which way the guy is standing when he looks at you or talks to you. He just watches which way his feet are pointing. If both feet are pointing towards you, it means that he is comfortable with that direction and does not need to have an escape route. So this would also mean that he might like you.

Friends

Men don’t usually tell you directly if they like you or not. But if they are interested, they will tell their best friends that they would like to know more about you. And they could have their friends find out about you. If you notice this happening, that’s a sure sign.

Conversation

When you have to talk to him, it’s much easier to tell if he likes you or not. If he can be relaxed and just himself when you’re around, that means he’s comfortable with you. This does not mean anything other than that you can be at least very good friends. But instead, if he is watching you all the time, he does not pay attention to what you say and you have the feeling that he would rather be somewhere else; you are most likely right. A shy guy (and not so shy if he has a crush on you) would be nervous and may not always be so natural when he talks to a woman. If a guy likes you, he also shows interest in the things you like and do. My advice is to try to steer a conversation into an area that you like and feel comfortable talking about. For example, if you like cats, feel free to tell me. It doesn’t matter if the guy doesn’t like cats at all, he might start comparing them to dogs (meaning he has paid attention to what you said and is interested in your point of view). Remember to also listen to what he has to say and let him do the talking too!

Behavior

How does the boy treat you? Many guys (not all!) jokingly tease a girl they like. He might as well be more polite to you than to the other girls. He opens the door for you, takes off your coat, gives you meat, etc. Any behavior that is different to you than others means that there is something special going on. This different behavior is easy and a good sign.

Other things

Here I also give you some small signs that you can pay attention to to know if he likes you. These are somewhat more difficult to spot than the others. As I mentioned before, his feet would be pointing towards you, but he also subconsciously turns his shoulders towards you even when talking to another person. If you say “Oh I’m so dumb” or something around it, it will immediately tell you that “no you’re not, (your name)”. And yes, that’s one more thing: if he says your name more often than usual during a conversation.

Evidence

An easy and practical way to test if he is really interested is to simply take an innocent step into his personal space. If he walks away, he is either not interested or a very shy person. But if he’s interested, he’ll set the boundaries of his personal place closer to you and allow you to get closer than normal.
