First look at the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR: more, with less

People had a lot of problems with the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Although it had a powerful supercharged V-8 engine, the interior wasn’t all that impressive. This is one of the main problems with vehicles that fall into this series. The F-Pace SVR comes with amazing performance, but there’s still plenty of room for refinement. Today, the company launches the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR. In this article we are going to talk about what this new installment offers.

The new installment has a much better makeover. Also, it has an intensive facelift, which is a great thing. But it’s obvious that the cabin quality is subpar and the ergonomic options are bewildering. For example, the window switches are located high up on the edge of the door. They are too close to the side mirrors.

Apart from this, poor ergonomic choices and mediocre design reduced the sales of the previous model. SVR performance was great, but the overall package wasn’t impressive enough to satisfy buyers.

The interior of the 2021 SVR is much smarter and cleaner than the previous model. The new gear selector features a built-in sports-type frame. It comes with the system start/stop button and drive mode knob.

Likewise, the promotional image presents a car that is in the European market. It has clearly visible SVR logos. The steering wheel features a small hub that looks quite conspicuous in a cleaner and more impressive dash. The dashboard vents are not as prominent.

The exterior of the vehicle is not that extensive. However, it looks modern and cleaner. The headlights are thinner. Similarly, the lower fascia and air intakes are subtly remixed. It gives it a classic look, but there’s still a high-octane F-Pace out there.

At the rear, the rectilinear taillight lenses resemble semicircles. On the earlier model, the taillights are carved into the F-Pace’s rear hatch. So the basic theme and spirit are the same, but the execution is cleaner and smarter. Other features are pretty similar. According to the manufacturer, aerodynamic resistance and frontal lift are reduced. The exterior makeover is a bit better.

While the numbers are worth exploring, the performance numbers aren’t all that different. The car comes with a 5-liter V-8 supercharged engine that makes 550 horsepower. The only difference is that torque is 516 lb-ft, which is 14 lb-ft more than the previous model.

According to factory claims, the vehicle can go from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds if some improvements are made to the transmission and tuning. The top speed of the car is 178 miles per hour.

The electric power steering is quite responsive, unlike the previous model. Adaptive dampers make you feel comfortable at low speeds. The latest brake booster improves pedal feel due to the shorter stroke. The 8-speed automatic transmission is capable of dealing with the highest torque load.

This is a brief look at the new 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR. If you are interested in purchasing this vehicle, you can now make a better choice.
