In the past, Cleveland, Ohio was considered “the bug by the lake,” but not anymore. Over the last several decades, the City of Cleveland has worked very hard to change the image of the city. While the city may still be the butt of many jokes across the country, there is actually a lot the city has to offer. This “green ring” around the city is commonly known as the “Emerald Necklace”, one of the wonders of the city. The Cleveland Metroparks system is actually one of the largest continuous city parks in the entire United States. This little-known “gem” in Cleveland is just one reason to travel here.

• Sports – From the Cleveland Browns to the Indians and the Cavs, there are many sporting events in the city. Known to some as “Believeland”, the city is well known for cheering on its sports teams.
• Cheap – Some may call it “cheap,” but any way you look at it, you’ll spend less money when you travel to Cleveland than if you went somewhere like Chicago or New York City. Even though the price is low, there is still a lot to do.
• Theaters and Arts – There are many theaters and art museums throughout the city, which means that there is always something to do for you, no matter what you like.
• The lake – Whether it’s swimming, boating, fishing or other water activities, Lake Erie offers fun and adventure for those who travel to Cleveland.
• Rock And Roll – Last but not least is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Some would say this is the highlight of the city, but if you love Rock and Roll, you’ll want to spend at least a day or two here.

As you can see from this short list, there are quite a few things to do once you’re in Cleveland. When you add in the fact that it’s so cheap to get there (and to stay there), you can see why so many people head there on vacation.
