Avant Brent Payne MLM Review: A Comparison of Avant Income Opportunity and Liberty League

Avant is the latest income opportunity from former Liberty League co-founder Brent Payne. This article provides an overview of the Avant income opportunity, its products, and its compensation plan.

Liberty League International had a pretty successful run of about 8 years as a premier direct sales opportunity. The company ran into regulatory trouble, Brent Payne subsequently left the company to pursue other interests, and the company was eventually renamed in 2009 as Polaris Media Group (now Polaris Global).

It’s no surprise to see that Brent has now launched his own company and that, as was the case with Liberty League, his new venture is once again firmly entrenched in the personal development space. Brent stays very true to his Liberty League roots with Avant, both in terms of the product line and the compensation model.

Before the product line

Like Liberty League, Avant offers three core products. The Liberty League offered a home study program called Beyond Freedom, a three-day event called the Liberty Conference, and a five-day event called the Summit Conference. In Avant’s case, the products include a home study program called the Elevate Life Achievement Course, a three-day live event called Transform, and a four-day live event called Transcend.

Elevate is a 72-day home study program consisting of a DVD, 3 CDs, a workbook, and a journal system. The company is integrating support calls, social media, and an online component to enhance the product experience. Unlike Liberty League’s Beyond Freedom, which only offered the minimum right to termination policy required by law, Avant offers a 72-day money-back guarantee on its Elevate program. The retail price of the program is $1595.

Transform is a three-day conference that sounds strikingly similar to the old Liberty League Liberty conference. It is a three-day event that allows the community to come together at a resort location with the opportunity to network and participate in guest speaker presentations. The event ticket is for 2 people and includes admission to the conference, the opening night dinner reception, the closing night black-tie dinner, and hotel accommodation. The event ticket is $9495.

Transcend is a four-day conference very similar in design to the old Liberty League Summit conference. It is designed to build on the fundamental principles taught at Elevate and Transform and includes live speaker presentations and participation in fitness challenges and work groups. The event ticket is for 2 people and includes admission to the conference, the opening night dinner reception, the closing night black-tie dinner celebration and hotel accommodation. The event ticket is $16495.

Before the compensation model

Avant’s compensation plan pays qualified distributors (referred to as “Consultants”) in two different ways: retail earnings on all sales you personally make; and residual bonus payments on all sales made within your downline organization, up to 4 levels deep.

To become a Qualified Consultant at each product level, you must first make a retail sale, which may include your own personal (retail) purchase from your Consultant. After that qualifying sale, all subsequent sales pay you directly. Retail prices for Avant products include earnings of $1,000 (Elevate), $5,000 (Transform) and $10,000 (Transcend) for the qualified distributor.

As was the case with Liberty League, customers buy the products directly from you as a consultant (distributor) and then send the wholesale payment to the company to complete the order. This allows the company to avoid the high cost of building a complex compensation system and being forced into a weekly or even daily compensation cycle. It also provides a structure whereby the company technically doesn’t pay you commissions and instead positions you as a qualified reseller.

A key distinction of the Liberty League model is the introduction of the residual nullification group. The Residual Override Pool pays you overrides on all sales within your downline (up to 4 levels deep). Additional amounts are $50 for Elevate, $250 for Transform, and $500 for Transcend. This creates the very real possibility of building a residual income base that also creates a stronger incentive to build and support your team.
