How committed are you to your network marketing business?

Not long ago, my husband and I had a Zoom meeting with a business woman and her personal assistant from Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The business woman’s name is Mrs. Sir.

The Zoom meeting was held because Ms. M is very interested in exploring the network marketing business I am in and was looking for the right sponsor for her and her personal assistant (PA).

Here’s a backstory on Mrs. Sir.

She is a successful business woman. Previously, she tried to build a network marketing/MLM business and had quite a large network.

However, his previous MLM business was missing one thing. He didn’t get much guidance or support from his sponsor or team.

If you’ve never built a network marketing business before, know that one of the key factors in being successful is your team.

It doesn’t matter if your business has the best product or the best marketing plan, if you joined a team without compromise, as the saying goes, “birds of the same feathers fly together”.

You will end up frustrated and leave the business.

That was exactly what happened to Mrs. Sir.

For a while, she stayed away from any MLM business and concentrated on her conventional business.

What attracted her to the MLM company I partnered with was the company’s core product.

He has seen many people talking about it online and decided to buy it from a third-party online platform just to try it out.

He tried it and loved it!

That sparked his interest in network marketing again and this time, he started looking for a suitable sponsor and the right team to join.

That was how Mrs. M connected with me and my husband and thus the Zoom meeting with her and her PA.

During the Zoom meeting, it became clear what Ms. M wanted from a sponsor. She wanted someone who could guide her and support her as she built her network.

You want a sponsor who is truly committed to the business.

How can you tell if your sponsor or upline is committed to your business?

I thought about that question for a while because commitment in my own network marketing business has never been an issue.

I committed to building my business from day one in March 2018.

At the time, I was unemployed and the money was quickly running out of my bank account.

I had no choice. I had to make it work.

I understand that many people may not be in that situation.

Signing up as a member costs less than RM100.

There is no risk because no capital investment is required and the Malaysian MLM business model has long been proven to work since 1976 when Amway Malaysia was established.

That’s a track record of over 40 years in Malaysia and the company is still going strong! I’m not with Amway by the way.

Because it doesn’t cost a lot of money to start and no capital investment is required, many people treated their MLM business as a hobby.

They only do it when they feel like it… unfortunately, they’re not really committed to the business.

When you treat the business like a hobby, you will earn hobby income.

A true measure of our commitment in our network marketing business is when my husband resigned from his corporate job at a listed company in Malaysia and went full time to our business at the end of 2019.

In short, my husband and I have burned our boats.

In 334 BC C., Alexander led a fleet of Greek and Macedonian ships through the Dardanelles Strait and into Asia Minor.

When he reached the shore, Alexander ordered his men to burn the ships. He told his men: “Either we will return home in Persian ships or we will die here.”

My network marketing business is now my full time career. It is the only source of income for my husband and me for our family.

There is no turning back for us, therefore we are fully committed to growing our business and also helping our business partners to grow their business.

In closing, Ms. M and her PA have joined our team and we look forward to helping them grow their business.
