THERE ARE 10 ESSENTIAL STEPS TO START HEALING YOUR GRIEF LIKE A BOSS!

Remember:

“Cowardice asks the question: is it safe?
Convenience begs the question: is it politics?
Vanity asks the question: is it popular?
Purpose consciousness asks the question: is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a stand
that is not safe, nor political, nor popular;
but one must take it BECAUSE it is right.”
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Call your complaint by its name: complaint. I learned while experiencing unwanted and unexpected grief, pain, and loss that I should call my grievance what it was: grievance. As I came to fully understand the source of my grievance, I was able to better identify the power of the unique pain I was experiencing. So I was able to deal with my pain circumstance on a new helpful level.

Find a caregiver. In fact, seek help from more than one caregiver. Early in your grievance experience, you will realize the need and benefit from the help of others. Don’t leave God out. Don’t count on his own inspiration as your only source of healing help. How can you understand your complaint? How can you erase your darkest grievance? How can you find a brighter tomorrow? These are all questions when faced with a terrible grievance, you will look to your inspiration for answers.
After you’ve tried to better understand how you can overcome your pain, don’t leave God out of your healing formula.

“God provides the wind, man must hoist the sail.”
~ Saint Augustine

Communion with God can give you inspiration and strength beyond your own inspiration and abilities. However, after communion with your God, realize that you must still hoist the sail and seek the wind to heal you of your excruciating pain.

“Healing blessings come in many forms, each tailored to our individual needs, as known to the One who loves us most. Sometimes a “healing” cures our illness or eases our burden. But sometimes we are “healed” when we are given strength or understanding or patience to bear the burdens that are laid upon us.” ~ Elder Dallin H. Oaks November 2006 Liahona
