Jacksonville, located in Duval County, is the largest city in Florida, surpassing even Miami in terms of population explosion (about 1.3 million). This coastal city has continued to boom, especially after its consolidation with Duval County and its proximity to the Gulf and also the San Juan River. Thousands of people call Jacksonville home each year, adding to its many residents who live primarily within the city limits.
