Affiliate marketing training for newbie affiliates

The internet is packed with affiliate marketing training that promises overnight success. Many claim to have a secret method of making money online. New article marketing methods and techniques abound on the Internet that promise your financial freedom.

Affiliate Marketing Training Search

Before deciding to jump into affiliate marketing, I looked for and participated in various ways to earn money and occupy my time. I tried direct sales, multi-level marketing, retail sales, I had a retail store. All required some level of knowledge. Knowledge that I did not have.

The same goes for affiliate marketing. There are many training courses that claim to offer unique material; but they all teach the same. There are affiliate marketing training courses for niche identification, search engine optimization, article writing, and list building, to name a few.

It is as if you are in the middle of the ocean without a compass or sextant. You have too many addresses to choose from. You know there is land somewhere, but you don’t know in which direction to go.

There are many training courses that claim to be able to teach you how to make money online using their approach. It frustrates and confuses you to the point of indecision.

Affiliate Marketing Training Options

Of course, there are many options available to you, the Internet marketer. There are many reputable experts and some not so reputable.

Just as there is no magic formula for making money online, there is no one-size-fits-all method for learning affiliate marketing. The following options may seem obvious to the seasoned affiliate marketer. However, new marketers are often overwhelmed by the many marketing training options available.

  1. Free Training – Article directories often offer free training videos and courses. Some career training sites also offer access to free training. The Internet is another source. It’s packed with free content. Forums are an excellent source of free training. Ask a question in a forum and you will get a lot of answers.
  2. Professional training: If your budget allows, search the Internet and find a multitude of training programs and courses, from one-time purchase courses to monthly payment subscriptions.
  3. Experience – Nothing, I repeat nothing, replaces experience as a learning tool. Don’t be afraid to try something even if it doesn’t work. You will learn what not to do. Too often beginners get stuck in inactivity because they don’t want to make a mistake. Errors are the best teachers. As the saying goes, “do it.”

Due diligence

Regardless of the option or options you choose, do your due diligence. As I said earlier, there are many experts who claim to have the answer to make money online. But remember that they, too, were once beginners, and what they have to offer is most likely a version of the same basic information about list building, article writing, search engine optimization, etc.

For me, I do and I did all three options. At first, on a limited budget, I started with free training and quickly became overwhelmed by the variety of topics to choose from: how to choose a niche, how to build a list, how to attract customers, and so on. I focused on one topic, article writing, and learned enough to get started. Then I got into it and started making mistakes that were my best teachers – experience.

Don’t be overwhelmed by your affiliate market training course options. Pick a topic and go ahead.
