2009 Toyota Highlander Ranked 2nd Best SUV for Safety and Reliability

The Toyota Highlander is included in the category of SUV class cars. The new Toyota Highlander ranked second out of 20 midsize SUV models. It got the second rank due to the high level of reliability and additional safety features in the model.

The redesigned Highlander is a functional and family crossover vehicle. It uses the same platform as the Avalon and Toyota Camry. The new Crossover Highlander SUV has also been redesigned in terms of exteriors and provided with larger dimensions compared to the previous Highlander model.

The Highlander along with its hybrid model won the 2009 Best Midsize Crossover for the Money of the Year award for value and overall performance. The new Highlander from the house of Toyota comes with the same versatility and practicality that made the first two models a popular choice with families.

Vehicle features like good fuel economy, charming interiors, strong V6 engine, roomy seats and cargo space, and the car’s refinement put the Highlander at the top of the list of best picks in the SUV category. The next-generation Highlander has also been awarded Best Family Vehicle and Recommended Pick for 2008. The new Highlander comes with the 4-cylinder engine in the base trim model.

The Highlander is offered in three different trim levels: Sport, Limited and Base models combined with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Highlander Hybrid model comes with the new gasoline engine.
